Art installations & exhibitions

Bring large-scale artworks and exhibitions into the world, with the technical planning, lighting and site coordination they need to stand up in public.

What we create

An artwork in public deserves production that honours the artist's vision. We work with artists, curators and organisers to carry an approved design into the world with care: careful lighting, exhibition production, and the site, structure and safety work that lets a piece be seen the way it was intended once the sun goes down.

For Noor Riyadh 2025, Magenta illuminated Skeleton of the Glorious by Khalid Zahid. We work with artists and curators to translate an approved creative vision into a carefully resolved experience of light and space.

What we can bring together

  • Technical planning for large-scale artworks and exhibitions
  • Lighting design for sculpture, objects and display
  • Structural, power and mounting coordination on site
  • Fabrication coordinated to the artist's approved design
  • Weatherproofing, cable routes and public-safety measures
  • Exhibition layout, sightlines and visitor flow
  • Installation, commissioning and nightly operation
  • Documentation and maintenance visits through the run

Events it suits

  • Public art and light festivals
  • Exhibitions and pavilions
  • Museum and gallery displays
  • Seasonal and city programmes
  • Brand and cultural installations

What we need from you to plan it

  1. The artist's drawings, and who approves changes to them
  2. The site, and what may be fixed to or dug into it
  3. How long the piece stays up, and who maintains it
  4. Power availability and access for maintenance
  5. Wind, weather and public-safety constraints
  6. Permission from the festival, the venue or the landowner

Planning questions

How do you work with artists and curators?
We develop a lighting approach around the artist's intent, the site and the way visitors move through the work. For Skeleton of the Glorious by Khalid Zahid at Noor Riyadh 2025, Magenta provided the lighting.
Can you light a piece we already own?
Yes. We assess the materials, surfaces, sightlines and surrounding light, then propose an approach that gives the artwork presence and protects its character.
